Removals Spain Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Removals Spain to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to uphold the dignity and wellbeing of all individuals who work for or with our business. This statement relates to the financial year ending 31 December and will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Removals Spain operates in the removals and relocation sector, providing domestic and international moving services, storage solutions, and associated logistics. Our supply chain includes transport providers, warehouse and storage facilities, packing materials suppliers, equipment and vehicle maintenance providers, and various professional and administrative service providers.

We acknowledge that certain aspects of the logistics and transport sector may be exposed to risks of modern slavery, including forced labour, debt bondage, and exploitation of migrant workers. We are committed to identifying, mitigating, and, where necessary, remediating such risks in a systematic and transparent manner.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

Removals Spain maintains a clear zero-tolerance stance towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not accept any form of exploitation in our own operations or in those of our suppliers, contractors, or business partners. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious violation of our standards and may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.

Our policy requires that all workers are engaged voluntarily, are free to leave their employment with reasonable notice, and are not subject to threats, coercion, or inhumane working conditions. We expect all partners to comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws and to maintain appropriate records to demonstrate such compliance.

Supplier Standards and Due Diligence

We work to ensure that our suppliers understand and adhere to our expectations relating to modern slavery. As part of our supplier onboarding and renewal process, we assess the nature of the services provided, the geographical location, and any identified sector risks. Where higher risks are identified, we apply enhanced due diligence and more frequent review.

Suppliers are required to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded, or compulsory labour and that they have systems in place to prevent modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains. We expect suppliers to cascade similar standards to their subcontractors and labour agencies.

Supplier Audits and Monitoring

Removals Spain conducts risk-based audits and monitoring of selected suppliers to evaluate compliance with our modern slavery requirements. These audits may include site visits, worker interviews conducted in a confidential manner, review of employment records, and verification of right-to-work documentation where lawful and appropriate.

Where concerns or non-compliance are identified, we engage with the supplier to agree on corrective actions and clear timelines. Failure to implement satisfactory improvements may lead to a reduction in business or the termination of the commercial relationship. Our aim is both to enforce our standards and to support genuine efforts by suppliers to strengthen their own practices.

Reporting Channels and Grievance Mechanisms

We encourage all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns related to modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical labour practices. Reports can be made through internal reporting channels, to line management, or to designated senior managers responsible for compliance and ethics.

All reports are treated seriously and, where possible, confidentially. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith. Allegations are investigated promptly, and where modern slavery is suspected or identified, we will take appropriate action, which may include engaging with authorities and specialist organisations where required by law or circumstance.

Training and Awareness

We provide relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, operations, and supplier management, with information and training on modern slavery risks and indicators. This helps our people recognise potential warning signs, ask the right questions, and escalate concerns appropriately. We continue to review the scope and effectiveness of our training as part of our commitment to continuous improvement.

Annual Review and Continuous Improvement

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed and updated annually by the senior management of Removals Spain. As part of the review, we consider changes in our business activities, emerging risks in the removals and logistics sector, and feedback from employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders. We also assess the effectiveness of our existing measures, including audits, training, and reporting channels.

Our goal is to continually strengthen our approach to identifying and addressing modern slavery risks. By working closely with our staff, suppliers, and partners, Removals Spain is committed to fostering a supply chain that respects human rights, promotes fair working conditions, and contributes to the prevention and eradication of modern slavery in all its forms.
